Tea Party Urges McConnell to Step Aside in 2014

According to a story on the Huffington Post, a Tea Party linked group known as the Senate Conservatives Fund is urging Mitch McConnell to step down in light of a strong challenger, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, in his upcoming race for re-election.

Matt Hoskins, Executive Director of Senate Conservatives Fund, spoke with the Washington Post. “Mitch McConnell is now the least electable Republican senator running for reelection in 2014,” he said. "He could lose this race and cost Republicans the majority. He needs to consider whether it might be time to hang it up.”
