The best awards show acceptance speech ever...
In all the fighting over Obamacare, the facts about Obamacare
end up getting lost. Of course, that’s exactly what Republicans are fighting to do. Nothing that you’re hearing from Republicans about Obamacare is true—including the fact that they can stop it. They can no more stop Obamacare funding than they can reduce the deficit by refusing to raise the debt ceiling to pay for bills we’ve already incurred.
But Ted Cruz wants everybody to know that he has a plan
. It’s half Rube Goldberg and half General Custer, but he definitely has a plan. Ted Cruz’s only end game is to end the game... and have somebody else take the blame. Talk about General Custer—at least George Custer actually led his men into battle. If Ted Cruz was at the Little Bighorn, he would have ordered the 7th Cavalry to attack while he waited nearby to blame them if it didn’t work.
Fox News’ Chris Wallace says
that GOP leaders sent Fox News opposition research on Ted Cruz. I can believe that. If there is one thing that Republicans are good at, they’re good at identifying their enemies.
Rand Paul says that Republicans are “Winning!” just like Charlie Sheen
. Rand asked a conservative gathering “Does anybody remember Charlie Sheen when he was kind of going crazy... jumping around saying ‘Winning, winning, we’re winning!’” Yeah, he sure looked crazy saying that. Wait, I’m thinking about Karl Rove on election night! According to Rand “Well I kind of feel like that, we are winning. And I’m not on any drugs.” Rand, if you think you’re winning, you might need some drugs, like maybe some anti-psychotic medications.
NRA head Wayne LaPierre says
that the shootings in DC happened because there weren’t enough good guys with guns.” Now, every time that the presence of guns fails to stop gun violence, then the NRA will just say that we didn’t have enough guns. If we just had a few more guns! It’s the same way Republicans talk about tax cuts. When they don’t work to stimulate the economy, they just say we need more!
