Grace Jones as May Day in A View to a Kill (1985)
It’s May Day! May Day
is both an ancient pagan holiday, and a day set aside to honor workers in countries all over the world—it’s everything the rightwing hates in a nutshell.
Boston police say they have taken into custody three more suspects in the Marathon bombing
. The three are college roommates of Dzhokhar who are suspected of removing items from his room after the bombing. If they did, they may have broken the law. In any case, they broke the rules of being a roommate. Don’t touch somebody else’s stuff!
On MSNBC Jonathon Alter described the same rightwing media
“food chain” that we told you about. This is one of the few times that you will see the liberal media saying the same thing, but that’s only because this is true. The nice thing about the rightwing food chain is that if you want to know what conservatives are saying, you only have to listen to one of them. All the rest will be saying the same thing.
Glenn Beck said conspiracy theories are flourishing... because people know that they can’t get the truth from the government or the media. So... conspiracy theories abound, because there’s a conspiracy. Glenn said
that nowadays all conspiracy theorists “have to do is plant the seeds of doubt whenever and wherever they can.” Replace “they” with “I” in that sentence, and you have Glenn Beck’s mission statement. If you think that people are being driven crazy by listening to Glenn Beck, imagine how much crazier it would make a person to actually BE Glenn Beck. His listeners only hear him on the radio—Glenn Beck has to hear Glenn Beck in his head. Glenn Beck is the only person on earth who can never turn Glenn Beck off! No wonder he’s going completely insane
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett says the reason for the unemployment problem in his state is that too many Pennsylvanians are on drugs
. Tom, it’s not a good idea to think that you’re the governor of a state of drug addicts... unless you’re the governor of West Virginia, in which case you’re probably just being realistic.
